I'm really sad to hear that your sweet boy is missing. At least know that cats generally are good at surviving. Sometimes they just go off and do cat things.

Then when they return, they act like they only being gone a few hours. A terrified lost cat will probably go into survival mode and tuck into the first small, dark place they find. They will probably be too scared to come to the sound of your voice. They will stay there until they get so hungry they must risk coming out to eat. A recent study showed that most indoor cats who were found had been hiding within 2 houses of their home!

Neighbors have looked and I ask all the time if anyone has seen him. He’s been spotted by people but I go to where he’s been spotted and I never see him. I actively look everyday and even pulled an all nighter looking for him. Also leave a tray with some used litter outside, if he’s still near that might help him find back his home. I am assuming he’s neutered, because if not, there’s a very high chance he’ll never come home again.

Apparently that's the magic number. The last time I saw him was on Saturday. Everything was fine; I was outside fixing my bike, and I let him out.

This is dangerous, especially in the summer months, because your cat needs water and food. If stranded waiting for help for too long, it can become a life-threatening emergency. We can’t imagine what happened between 11pm and 7am that night…. The mama is a feral cat that started trusting us abt a yr ago. We have been feeding her and 6 other ferals outside in the morning and evening almost every day. She is one of two that actually allow us to pick them up and hold them. Every once in awhile, cats will either intentionally or unintentionally be taken on a ride out of the area. Intentional instances are situations where someone has stolen your cat.

Listen for sounds or movement. Look up trees to high branches. One week ago tonight my precious ran out the door and disappeared into the night.

I plan on trying some of these tips because I refuse to give up on her. Charlene, unless your other cat is leash-trained, I’d say no. Keeping calling loudly and look in every direction, up trees, down in crevices, everywhere. Look at his photo, focus on it and tune in, ask him what’s around him, a description of the location. Wait and see what pop up in your head. Tell Gus to stay calm and you’re trying to find him.

Try to tune into where they might be. It may be a feeling, an image or sound. Reassure them that you will help get them home. I arrived with food which the cat ate but not ravenously. It looked healthy enough and wore a collar but with no ID.

Neighborhood groups on NextDoor or Facebook can be especially useful. Be specific about where your cat went missing. Ask people to watch their door cameras too. Placing food or litter boxes outside may lure in predators who might kill your cat.

I pray he does come home - and when he does get him neutered right away - do NOT let him roam outside to breed. One I want your cat to find it's way home. Two - I am sad that he is out breeding. He will always be disappearing like that and now more than ever because he is two years old and a full grown tomcat. I know every terrible possibility will be going through your mind right now but honestly, it is still early days.
